At all levels and in all elections,...I always vote. At all levels and in all elections, I always vote, and I actually do my best to do research, listen to debates, attend meetings. In my younger years I was a delegate to the primaries several times.
Now I don't remember the last time when I really believed in a person, platform, party, etc.
I still always vote, always. But, sadly, I vote for what I believe is the lesser evil. This realization has been a bitter pill, and it still makes me choke when I vote.MarylinWarnerhttp://warnerwrit.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3132275097242652461.post-44928256608461939342012-05-07T19:04:42.285+01:002012-05-07T19:04:42.285+01:00Well, on this side of the pond, I assume all polit...Well, on this side of the pond, I assume all politicians are liars. And you will have the politicians and there followers roll out to the usual refrain of, "well if you don't like the system, get involved with it and change it!" A refrain, that is as old as politics and as useless as it.

The problem with that is, that since time began those who did get involved have built dynasty's that are linked through the political parties and the businesses and unions that they (don't) represent. Anyone coming along who does so out of the frustrations that the likes of you and I feel stand no chance of getting into a position of power that would change the system for the better.

The most obvious case in point in recent times really has to be the Liberal Democrats. People who were fed up with the strangle hold that Labour and the Conservatives had, and still do, and so they were born. But for the apathy of the electorate, an apathy that they cannot be blamed for, they will still be the little voice in the corner of the room that no one notices, not that the Conservatives are taking much notice of them as they prop them up in a bastardisation of a government.....

I really don't know what the answer is but whatever it is I fear that you and I and our children will not see it and it will be more than a few generations down the line, hopefully, when the population of the world stops hating each other, surely there has to be a point in the future, when that will happen, and all the people's are treated fairly, that the system will change....

As you can see, I am just a dreamer......Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18318793094470458468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3132275097242652461.post-54906921860970685892012-05-07T09:56:38.804+01:002012-05-07T09:56:38.804+01:00I can't agree with you enough. I don't tru...I can't agree with you enough. I don't trust any of them, I never have but the last few years have surprised even me.

The labour left hate the moderate part of the party despite the success the party got.

Blair turned out to be a warmongering, greedy shit.

The Tories are as divided as ever but controlled by the most heartless and selfish of people.

The liberals turned out to be useless, and unable to keep a single promise.

I have no idea who to support, none of them represent me, none of them can be trusted. I'm not on the left, I'm not on the right, the libdems are unrealistic...

What should we do Tom?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17605395942200675178noreply@blogger.com
